Australian Electrical Engineering giant, Everett-Smith & Co, contracted me in 2019 to build an online presence that adequately represented the professionalism, scale, and simultaneously accessibility of their services. Operating in the Electrical Engineering industry in Australia and internationally for over 50 years, ESCo were relying on a website and project portfolio that had been built sometime in the 90s.
Working with some of Australia’s biggest mining and commercial companies, including BHP, Crown, and Westfield, ESCo realised having a website that reflected their ethos would serve them better during the tendering process. To achieve this, I was contracted to build 3 websites for them; one master site for Everett-Smith & Co, and two additional sites that conformed to the same design, but would represent their secondary companies that serve the Tier 2 construction industry.
The main goal was to have simple, single-page sites with anchor points, and a project portfolio expander on the homepage. The project then expanded out of necessity to include ESCo’s Safety mandate, as well as emphasis on additional areas of the business. I was also tasked to develop the written copy for each site, to ensure the essential information was conveyed in a relaxed yet still authoritative tone.
Once the project information was on hand, I worked with the technical team at ESCo to launch all three sites in quick succession – all going live in the same month.
